Get creative!

Wed 15 Sep 2010

Plastic bottles, old magazines, coat hangers, just about anything could become a school holidays activity next week!
The Rotary Club of Airlie Beach Wearable Art parade is on again as part of the Big4 Adventure Whitsunday Reef Festival, and organiser Pam Pole is challenging parents and kids to get creative over the holidays to create a wearable piece of art.
"The Wearable Art parade has been popular for so many years, and we have seen so many different expressions of creativity over that time – from dresses made of playing cards, to an entire outfit made from copies of the Whitsunday Times!" Ms Pole said.
"You can make anything you like from whatever you like, as long as it can be modelled in the parade," she said.
The Wearable Art parade will take place on the Airlie Foreshore from 3pm after the pre-judging event that morning, and cash prizes are on offer.
