Local foods feature across festival

The Whitsunday Reef Festival celebrates its tenth year in 2010 and the value it adds to town can't be measured. Boosting the local economy, extra visitors to town for the weekend to make the most of a  huge array of (mostly free) events.

Another asset to the festival and excellent reason to attend is the enormous variety of food that features across the long weekend. How about these great dining events

Barrier Reef TAFE Festival of Flavours Luncheon - enjoy a fine three course lunch time meal at Palmer's restarant
Comedy Gala at Waterline on Shingley - sweep your way through a tasty supper while you try and control the laughter Waterline
Fashion TV presents Frocktails at Deja Vu - the cuisine at Deja Vu has an incredible reputation and there is always plenty of it at the Frocktails night.

The foreshore fun Friday through Sunday will have a host a fabulous range of food stalls from Whitsunday and regional vendors.

Take for instance the appearance of “Fussea Buggers” with Norm and Cherie Clark. “Fussea Buggers” became a going concern in the March of 2010 given the huge demand for Norm's classic spit roasts. Being the “spit master” (we made that up) for 35 years, Norm kicked off in the Blue Mountains before making the sea change. If you have had a spit roast lunch or dinner at Orlando's, Club Croc in the early days, or  perhaps at a Fantasea function, where Norm spent 15 years, its probably from his handy work in the kitchen. The Fussea Buggers spit features most Saturdays at the Lions Airlie Beach Community Markets and other events across the Whitsunday region. They also provide a full range of catering to weddings, events and parties.

We are certainly looking forward to having them at the Friday Fireworks night, Saturday markets, Saturday night music with Rockin the Reef for a tasty Beef or Chicken roll with heaps of Gravy, salt and Pepper. Yum!
I have died and gone to roast beef heaven.
